Ricky Chouinard, born on October 5 1961 in Rouyn-Noranda. Ricky started his career at the age of 13 . Inspired by his Father Blackie , who is also a singer and musician, he rapidly made his way in the country music industry. The encouragement of his Mother Ruth, and the experience of his Father helped him and still helps him in his career. He started the "Travelin' Band" with his two life-long friends, Alain Ouellet and Sylvain Lamothe, they played back-up for such country artistes such as Roger Miron, Jerry and Jo-Ann, along with many others . The band broke up 10yrs later.

In 1988, Ricky decided to move away from the Abitibi region and went to the Beauce region, there He met with Martial Gosselin , a great fiddle player. Martial introduced Ricky to Rock Saucier, a well known country singer in the Beauce , Quebec city area. They toured many times together playing country festivals , bars, and corporate organizations.

After touring with Rock for a little over two years, Ricky started his solo career , he was baptized the "one-man band". In 1994, Jerry Robitaille(jerry and jo-ann) along with Dougie Trineer helped him record his first album "Ricky on Stage". The album sold a little over 8000 copies.

In 1997, Ricky moved to Montréal where his talent in music and his down to earth humor made him one of the most booked musiciens.
